GRZEGORZ JARZYNA AWARDED BY THE PRESIDENT KOMOROWSKI

GRZEGORZ JARZYNA WAS AWARDED THE KNIGHT'S CROSS OF THE ORDER OF POLONIA RESTITUTA BY THE PRESIDENT BRONISŁAW KOMOROWSKI. THE CEREMONY WAS HELD ON JUNE, 4TH - THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST PARTIALLY FREE ELECTIONS IN 1989.

Bronisław Komorowski handed out state decorations to those who have actively cultivated the Polish freedom in various areas of life such as culture, business, science, as well as to foreign correspondents who in the 70’s and 80’s related Polish political transformations to the Western media.

There is no joy without freedom and there is no deeply experienced freedom without the ability to express joy. Only those who do not feel free fail to enjoy freedom – said the President during the ceremony.

Apart from Jarzyna, the President also awarded Knight’s Crosses of the Order of Polonia Restituta to Leszek Możdżer, Artur Rojek and Kayah, while Golden Crosses of Merit went to Katarzyna Nosowska and Artur Liebhart.

While thanking to the foreign correspondents, the President reminded that thanks to them our difficult struggle was welcomed with understanding, acceptance and fondness all over the world.

The ceremony was also attended by the Prime Minister Donald Tusk, former Prime Minister Tadeusz Mazowiecki, diplomats and MPs.
